Sixties Gold II Show 99
Sixties Gold II - 1999
On Sunday 28th November 1999 I was back at the Town Hall, Cheltenham to see four acts that were popular in the Sixties. These acts were as follows, in order of stage appearance:- DAVE BERRY

When Dave Berry came on stage my first thought was "oh no, what have I let myself in for" as he came on and was moving about the stage as if in slow motion. Another thing with this act was that most of the songs he performed were covers. The best song of this act was "THE CRYING GAME" which happened to be the last number.

DAVE DEE, DOZY, BEAKY, MICK & TICH

This act, which in my opinion was the best of the night, performed the hits like "OK!", "SAVE ME", "WRECK OF THE ANTOINETTE", "BEND IT", "THE LEGEND OF ZANADU" (complete with whip), "HOLD TIGHT", "ZABADAK!" (on which we all had to join in), plus an excellent version of Lennon & McCartney's "THIS BOY".

THE TROGGS

The Troggs started with "I CAN'T CONTROL MYSELF", before continuing with tracks like "ANYWAY THAT YOU WANT ME", "WITH A GIRL LIKE YOU", "LOVE IS ALL AROUND", and "WILD THING" to name but a few.

THE TREMELOES

Seeing this band was interesting as I had already seen their former lead singer BRIAN POOLE earlier on in the year (7th March). The band performed tracks like "TWIST AND SHOUT", "HERE COMES MY BABY", "DO YOU LOVE ME", and a few others before ending with "SILENCE IS GOLDEN".
